What a difference a week makes. Despite a slightly delayed kick off and a late request from them for uncontested scrums (boooooring), we definitely started the game with our heads on. Coming out fighting we were a lot more organised, aggressive, and committed which resulted in a nice early try as a result of perfect forwards play then a beautifully executed backs move. Canterbury Christ Church came back with a try of their own to leave us equal until our forwards began smashing through their defensive line resulting in another try from us. Needless to say, brute force was definitely involved in this one. CCC managed a breakaway try to answer leaving the scores equal with not too much time to go. Yet again, injured players who should have sat out saw this as a reason to jump back into their kit and onto the pitch... Finally, from a succession of moves and forward balls the winning try was scored! I guess I should add that no conversions were made (although our first unluckily hit the post) but when we won on tries and effort who needs bonus points anyway! Seeing the game out with determination and focus it's clear that we were not only a better team compared to last week but also the better team this week. Good work ladies, lets keep this up and rest our bruised limbs for Sunday's first LUSL outing! Notable Mentions: Try Scorers - Lilly Hunt, El Curzio-Vila, & Anna Layden Forward of the match - Georgina Ash Back of the match - Alice Smith Dick of the day - Lilly Hunt (no one should be playing on that many pain killers...)
Also a quick thank you to our little crowd of supporters consisting of friends, family & alumni :)
